Where in the World has AppLovin Been This Month?
We’re wrapping up the month of November, and with it, some exciting events that we got to be a part of. Read below to find out what AppLovin has been up to in Korea, Minsk, Finland, and Japan.
G-Star Korea
AppLovin went to Busan, Korea where nearly 700 companies came to meet with key players in the gaming industry. AppLovin took over the coffee shop across the street from G-Star, giving people a place to relax during the busy days of the conference and connect with like-minded people in mobile gaming. We loved getting the chance to meet with our customers and refuel in AppLovin style!
After picking up a cup of coffee, attendees met us over drinks at our after-party. Our theme for the night was “Newtro” a popular trend in Korea that means new and retro. Neutron culture combines modern features of the present with the analog sensibility of the past. Attendees enjoyed signature cocktails and danced the night away to old Kpop classics and American hits.

DevGAMM Minsk
After Seoul, we took off for Minsk for the 5th annual DevGAMM conference where more than 3,000 developers from novice to expert levels heard quality content about game development. AppLovin was ready with caffeine during the breaks to keep attendees energized for the day, and opened up a space for game developers to network in between sessions.
After the content for the day wrapped, we partnered with Belka to announce the annual Belkathon winners! Here’s a look at who took home a title:
- The best update of Belka Games — BINGO!
- Best hyper-casual game — Basketball
- Best puzzle & simulations game — Puzzle Pets Story
- Best Mobile Game — SUPER HOTTIE
- Grand Prix — Basketball
Congratulations to the winners! AppLovin also gave away a free trip to our Berlin office for hands-on training on UA, monetization, and advice on how to grow their business. A special shoutout to our winner Deslab from Kazakhstan on his all-expenses-paid trip!
Slush Helsinki
Our next stop this month was to Helsinki, Finland for Slush where 25,000 attendees gathered, including 3,500 startups and 2,000 investors. Slush is driven by students looking to help create and fuel the next generation of entrepreneurs, with content aimed at giving founders the support needed to solve the big problems of our time.
AppLovin joined forces with Adjust to throw a party to remember called “What the Helsinki, join us for a drinki!” — complete with hand-crafted cocktails and some awesome swag. We loved the opportunity to connect and mingle with over 100 attendees from across the globe attending Slush.

AdTech Tokyo
Our final event of the month took us to Japan for AdTech Tokyo, the biggest marketing conference in Asia. We had an AppLovin booth on display for attendees to drop by and get their mobile gaming questions answered by experts. We hosted mini speaking sessions where guest speakers from TikTok, Smart News, App Annie and AppsFlyer all came to speak on the state of mobile gaming and where it’s headed in 2020 and beyond. Check out our Facebook page for links to the livestream of each of these sessions.
Our own Norikazu Hayashi, AppLovin’s Japan Country Manager also participated on a panel with fellow marketing managers from CMT, App Annie, DMM.com, and Johnson & Johnson, discussing the changing landscape of Internet advertising in Japan.
